The biggest difference between LED lights and the other lights is that the high power LED lights use low voltage direct current, highly efficient GN (Gallium Nitrogen) based blue LED with yellow phosphorus for producing white light. In longer run LED lights are more efficient and cheap. Lets make an estimate of 1 year. 

So, SAVE up to 80% of power by replacing conventional light source to LED light. Moreover, LED turned on in full brightness is hundred times faster than conventional light sources. Another amazing factor is that LED required less wiring and gives brighter light. LEDs are water proof. So in presence of fire alarm systems, LED can lower the possibility and extremity of accidents to a high extent. 

  

LEDs are RoHS compliant and do not contain any toxic pollutants and mercury. So these are safer for both the health and the environment. The carbon dioxide emissions of LED bulbs are 451 lb/yr as compared to 4500 lb/yr by incandescent bulbs and 1051 lb/yr by CFLs. These are resistant to low temperatures. So, these can work where others cannot. These are very durable and can handle bumping and jarring while the glass of traditional light bulbs breaks very easily. The heat emitted by LED light bulbs is low (3.4 btu's/hr) as compared to incandescent bulbs (85 btu's/hr) and CFLs (30 btu's/hr).
